From Mrs. Jones, Our School Counselor:

Mindful Moments: Rainbow Breathing

What is mindfulness? It is paying attention to the here and now without judgement. It can be practiced anytime, anyplace. It involves engaging your senses and being in the present moment. The first step is to be aware of your breathing. When we focus on our breath, we can quiet our minds, reduce stress and anxiety, and help ourselves feel more calm and in the moment. So, let’s all take a deep breath in … and let it out slowly and quietly.

Ongoing Support for Children and Families

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, both children and adults are experiencing challenges, which may be different for each person. It is important to monitor children's mental health and emotional well-being. The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) outlines strategies for talking to children about COVID-19 and supporting their mental health. Learn more about NASP's recommendations and how you can reach out to your school for help.
