From the Principal. . .
Dear Phelps Luck Families,

Thank you so much for attending our PLES Back-To-School Nights this week!  It was great to see so many families attend!  If you were unable to attend, the powerpoints are on our website.  In addition, the HCPSS Calendar and Student Handbook can be accessed on-line at www.hcpss.org.  Please let us know if you have any questions!

As many of you may be aware, HCPSS is in the process of redistricting.  Our school would be impacted if the current proposal is approved by the Board of Education.  You can access more information at www.hcpss.org/school-planning.  There are Public Input opportunities next week on September 24th and 26th.  The date is based on the high school your home is assigned to.  Please reference the website to determine which night to attend.

Lastly, we continue to enroll students and our kindergarten has grown!  We have received a 5th kindergarten teacher and have been working to hire this additional teacher!  We will keep you updated!

Sincerely,
Michelle M. Leader
Principal

Watch D.OG.S. Program
WATCH D.O.G.S. is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement organizations in the country. Since the program’s creation in 1998, more than 6,450 schools across the country have launched a WATCH D.O.G.S. program of their own. Each school year hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures make a positive impact on millions of children by volunteering millions of hours in their local schools through this amazing one-of-a-kind program. Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school's administrators.

We are excited here at Phelps Luck to get the program started. We are calling our fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles and other positive father figures to volunteer at least one day. Please mark your calendars, and make plans to come to our WATCH D.O.G.S. Kick-off Pizza Night on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 6:00 PM. At this meeting, you will gain more insight into the program and how to sign up to volunteer. For more information, please email Mr. Blackwood at idboogie74@yahoo.com, or call Mr. McCleary or Ms. McGraw at 410-313-6886. Men, we are calling on you!
