School News

Bonnie Branch Middle – 6th Grade Orientation:

BBMS will hold their Virtual Incoming 6th Grade General Meeting and GT Overview on January 27th at 7pm.  Here is the updated flyer with the information.

Parent Teacher Conferences:

February 10th and 11th are designated for Parent Teacher Conferences.  We will be holding 20 minute conferences. All conferences will be held virtually with your child’s Math teacher.  The google link code will be sent to you with your confirmation email.  Your child’s Math teacher will be sending out specifics about this google link as well.  We encourage you to use your child’s Chromebook and login using your child’s credentials.  If you wish to have a conference with any of our related arts teachers, please email them directly.

Once you enter the google code or link, you will be put in a “holding space” until the teacher admits you.  Because many conferences will be back-to-back, please only log on one minute before your designated time.  If you have technology challenges, check Dojo or email as your child’s teacher will reach out to you that way.  You can also call the office for assistance.

From Friday, January 28th at 8:00am through Friday, February 4th at 8am, you can log into HCPSS Connect  to view and select from the time slots provided by the teacher for the conference. If you do not have access to HCPSS Connect, please call the school for assistance at 410-313-6886.

Calling for the Watchdogs!

Our school has the WATCH D.O.G.S. program, which is a fabulous volunteer program for fathers and father-figures. We have a virtual Winter Kickoff planned for Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The WATCH D.O.G.S. Program is an innovative program being used by schools across America, which helps students to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures. Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears. Please contact watchdogs@phelpsluckpta.org for more information from Ms. McGraw (Assistant Principal) or Mr. Wacha (Watchdogs Coordinator).  Thank you!

Outdoor Lunch Volunteers Needed!

We still need parent volunteers to help us get through the winter. A text is sent out when outdoor lunch is cancelled due to the weather or lack of staff. If you are already on the schedule, please know that we still need you. If you have flexibility in your schedule, please let us know so we can have enough people each day.  If you are not on the schedule and would like to sign up to help one to three hours during the lunches, please send Ms. McGraw an email letting her know the day and time slot(s) that you are available to help. Thank you!

Community Center Next to PLES

Please do not park in the community center next PLES during morning drop off or afternoon pick-up.  This is not part of our school property and the people using the facility have been unable to find parking there. The community center has alerted us that they will begin ticketing and towing cars.  We appreciate your assistance!

Green School Recycling Collection:

Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2293 is leading a recycling drive for #2 and #5 recyclable materials!  This effort aligns with our Green School initiative and collected materials will be used to create raised garden beds for schools! Cleaned items may be dropped in the collection bin located inside the front doors of the school building until April 8th. Thanks for your support!
