Dear Phelps Luck Families,

While it may officially be spring, I am hoping that it feels like spring soon! We have many exciting activities coming up at PLES! Please note the various dates listed in our newsletter. We know that our students will enjoy what we have planned and hope you can attend one of our many evening events!

Sincerely,

HCPSS CALENDAR UPDATES!

At the 2/8/16 HCPSS Board of Education meeting, the Board of Education approved the following:

· President’s Day is no longer an inclement weather make-up day and will remain a day off of school.

· May 18 is now a school day, as a half-day for students and half-day for originally scheduled school-based professional learning.

· Spring Break will be Friday, March 30-Tuesday, April 3.

· April 4, 5 and 6 are also now full days of school.

· If there is another inclement weather day off of school this year, June 15 will be the make-up student day.

Maker Lab

The PLES Maker Lab is growing, but you are needed to “hold it together!” We need supplies that hold or can be used for binding, such as:

· Glue

· Glue guns and glue sticks

· Tape (all kinds)

· Yarn, string, ribbon, rope

· Wire

Send items in with your child or drop donated supplies in the PLES Maker Lab in the front hallway. Thank you!

Early Dismissal Procedures:

If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment that is close to the end of the school day, please do so before 3:00pm. After 3:00pm it is very difficult for our front office staff to get students while assisting with dismissal procedures. We appreciate your assistance with this! Thank you!

From the Health Room

The health room is in dire need of pants donations and underwear for boys and girls (small sizes, i.e., 4-14), please no shirts or socks. Thank you for any donations you can provide!

Important Reminder

If you have moved or plan on moving, please notify the office of your new address. You will need to bring your new lease/deed and a current utility bill to the office in order for your child’s record to be updated.
